This three-and-a-half-year project involved careful planning and coordination with the client’s design team and equipment vendors to upgrade an existing laboratory into a new compound bank laboratory. The phased project faced two key challenges: ensuring work did not disrupt the adjacent compound bank and maintaining constant communication with European equipment vendors to ensure the MEP infrastructure was aligned with the custom equipment. DCBA collaborated with the design team to meet code requirements, created a fully equipped research laboratory with a custom cold room and automatic robots, installed a custom FM Fire Protection System, and managed modifications, commissioning, and SAT testing before finalizing the project with the demolition of the original compound bank equipment.
