Sitting on a park bench in downtown Boston, David Beane and Joseph Gaiko looked through the first draft of their business plan and identified the three main components they wanted to define the culture of their company.
After a combined 40 years of experience in the construction industry, the two decided to act on a long-discussed dream and go into business for themselves. They sought to offer high-quality construction management services with a more personalized, less corporate client experience. They believed that the process with which a project was completed was as important as the final result, and that they could deliver unwavering commitment and attention to detail regardless of the size or scope of a job.
Thus, July 25, 2007, DC Beane and Associates Construction Company was born.
David and Joe quickly had the chance to act on their words, securing their first few jobs as a result of the relationships they had built with a client who held implicit trust in them. Despite the market crash in 2008, DCBA secured and renovated a small office in South Boston with its first four employees filling all roles. As one project led to another, DCBA slowly expanded and was rewarded with consistent growth each new year of operation.
By 2015, the South Boston office was too small to house DCBA’s employees and expanding departments. In the fall of 2015, DCBA renovated and moved to Building 125 in the Charlestown Navy Yard. This growth allowed the company to add additional employees and take on jobs of larger capacity.
Today, DCBA is looking forward to a future defined by deliberate, methodical growth, expanded and enhanced client relationships, and jobs of expanding size and complexity. Despite that growth, the spirit of integrity, consistency, and a family owned and operated mindset has remained the defining aspect of our business. From preconstruction through final closeout, our clients are awarded with the peace of mind that DCBA is undertaking their project with the highest standards of experience, service, and reliability that first launched us into business.

In my 32 years of association with Southeastern Metal Fabricators, I have known David for close to 30 of those years, a relationship that grew out of respect for one another. DC Beane recently completed a fast tracked 40,000 sq. foot occupied lab renovation project requiring challenging multi-phased construction schedule in which each phase relying on the previous phase being completed on time in order to ensure ongoing laboratory operations were unaffected. DC Beane was able to meet these challenges by adapting to design changes and working with the design team to provide effective solutions to minimize the schedule impact.
