The Cheney Room

Project Overview

DCBA renovated a 2,194 SF educational facility, incorporating architectural, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and fire alarm components. The project faced challenges such as abatements, material lead times, and 13 owner’s change orders, all while meeting the target schedule and budget. Due to the building’s occupancy, including the President’s office below, DCBA carefully coordinated noisy activities, work in active corridors, and material logistics, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with all parties involved to complete the project on time and within budget.

The Margaret Cheney Room at MIT was founded in 1884. The Cheney Room exists to promote community, relationship building, support, and empowerment of all students at MIT.
