DCBA renovated an existing laboratory to create an ISO 6 Class 1000 clean room within an occupied building, opting for a stick-built approach to achieve significant cost savings. Due to potential corrosion from lab research processes, all materials were required to be metal-free, leading to the installation of PVC-1 wrapped casework and fume hoods, custom PSP-coated ductwork, wax-dipped sprinkler heads, tank liner epoxy flooring, and epoxy wall paint. Infrastructure upgrades included new plastic exhaust fans, steel supports for roof exhaust fans, HEPA fan filter units, HVAC fans, lab sinks, RODI piping, water polishers, and a cleanroom electrical panel and lighting, all coordinated with building facilities and scientists to prevent disruptions to ongoing research.
