Project Overview
Originally, MIT had wanted to use a modular cleanroom for this project, but when that was too cost prohibitive, DCBA brought Thompson Consultants, Inc. in to create an in-the-box design. The final product was a combination of stick-built and limited prefabricated. DCBA performed significant MEP systems infrastructure work as the future cleanroom space had once been an office and did not have any of the required cleanroom utilities. Additionally, DCBA installed a new AHU on the building’s roof and made architectural modifications to achieve class 1000 cleanroom requirements.
