Project Overview

DCBA served as the owner’s project manager for the New York Proton Center, overseeing coordination between the construction team and Proton Therapy Equipment Vendor (PTEV), Varian Medical Systems, for the installation and commissioning of the $65 million Probeam® Multi-Room Proton Therapy. DCBA ensured the infrastructure met specific requirements, including 8’ thick concrete walls and radiation blocks to protect against radiation from the 90-ton Cyclotron, and completed critical construction before turnover to the PTEV. Due to exemplary management, DCBA’s role expanded to include overseeing the PTEV installation, crane picks, infrastructure connections, and building logistics while managing the project’s schedule and budget through regular analyses and meetings.
