This multi-phase project involved mechanical system upgrades to the eighth-floor animal suite within an active research facility, with temporary walls and noise/vibration monitoring to prevent disruption to ongoing research. The scope included demolishing existing walls, reconfiguring the suite, replacing HVAC ductwork, and adding new VAV boxes, VFDs, lighting, plumbing modifications, and a steam system for humidification control. MEP coordination and communication with MGB were key to the project’s success, with strict gowning procedures followed in the occupied vivarium areas.
